Jason Schroeder Profile Photo

Jason James Schroeder, age 42, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 after a strong and faith-driven journey of pancreatic cancer.

Jason J. Schroeder was born August 21, 1972 the son of Jim and Bobbi Schroeder of Lakota, ND. He attended school and graduated from Lakota High School in 1990. Jason then attended college at Lake Region in Devils Lake, graduating in 1993 with an Associate Degree in Science. He then returned to the family farm in Lakota. In August 1994 he started employment for FlightSafety Services and worked in Rapid City, SD and Altus, OK in 1994 and 1995.

Jason was united in marriage to Angie Bell on June 24, 1995. They lived in Oklahoma until their move to Milwaukee, WI in January 1996 where they resided for the next 7 years. While working for FlightSafety, he continued his education, receiving a Bachelor Degree in Business from Concordia College in Wisconsin in 2001. Jason and Angie received two special gifts from God, their daughters Bailey Nicole (13) and Peyton Noelle (12). They were the twinkle in Jason's eyes and he adored his daughters more than life itself. In 2003 they moved to North Dakota and lived in Fordville, where they still reside. Jason ended employment at the GFAFB with FlightSafety in 2011 and returned to the Schroeder Family Farm, rural Lakota to work with his dad and three brothers and best friends, Eric, Joel and Kris.

Jason's favorite thing was following Bailey and Peyton with their activities and was their #1 Fan. The girls were his greatest joy and he always had time for their sports, 4H and other activities. When not running for activities, he enjoyed spending time with his extended family, farming, hunting, playing pinochle, and having "Business Meetings" with his brothers at Buffalo Wild Wings. When at home, he liked to watch football and his favorite Green and Gold of the Green Bay Packers and NDSU Bison, snuggling in his chair with the dogs, Mylee and Sophie.

In Jason's battle with cancer, he never gave up the fight. He took each day as a new day in the battle and met things head on. He took great comfort in knowing that not only his family was by his side, but that God was leading the way in this journey and drew strength from his Faith in God.
Jason was a member of the Fordville Lutheran Church of Fordville, an Aggie Booster member and in High School was a member of the band Fugitive as the drum player. His life was full of love and laughter. He always believed if you couldn't have laughter, you didn't have much of anything.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Angie Bell Schroeder, Fordville; daughters, Bailey and Peyton, Fordville; parents, Jim and Bobbi Schroeder, Lakota; brothers, Eric (Tara) Schroeder, Joel (Kari) Schroeder, and Kris Schroeder all of Lakota; mother and father-in-law, Arden and Marcy Bell, Fordville, sister-in-law, Sharon (Chris) Lipsh, Grafton; brother-in-law, Travis (Corri) Bell, Fordville; grandmother, Greta (Verdell) Taylor; nieces and nephews, Lane, Kodi and Cale Bell, Parker Lipsh, Jordan, Taylor & Alex Anderson and Mikaela Moore; aunts & uncles, Jeanne & Jim Aaker, Gordon Schroeder, Monice Blose, Deb Fahey, Karen Fahey, Tom (Char) Fahey; cousins, Carlee (Randy) Thomson and Kaleb, Kole & Tate, Jon (Christina) Schroeder, Krista (Mike) Berg and Brady, Jared Fahey, Betsy (Ryan) Meadows and Grady & Keller, Allison Blose, Kody Fahey and Riley Fahey and two very special kids Hope & Jace Jehlicka.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bob Fahey; his grandparents, Lynn and Mary Schroeder; a brother-in-law, Justin Bell; two nephews, Adam and John Lipsh; and his best and most loyal friend, his dog Maggie.

In the "Dash" of one's life are memories made of love and laughter. In death, the memories are cherished and only in the hands of God and our Savior Jesus Christ can the laughter return.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 3:00 - 7:00 with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Fordville Lutheran Church. The Funeral Service will be Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Fordville Lutheran Church.
