Jeannette Koyle, age 90 of Clarissa, formerly of Bozeman, Montana, passed away peacefully at her son's home under the care of Moments Hospice on June 18, 2026.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Lakota Community Center in Lakota, North Dakota, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior at the center. Burial will take place at the Lawton City Cemetery in Lawton, North Dakota.

Jeannette Marie Legacie was born to Basil James and Iva Marie Olsen Legacie in Lawton, North Dakota, on September 10, 1935. She attended school through the ninth grade before marrying George Kovarik, with whom she welcomed the first five of her children. During this period of her life, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which became her spiritual anchor and source of strength throughout the rest of her life.

She later married Clarence Miller and moved to a large farm, where they welcomed three more daughters and one stillborn son. Jeannette worked tirelessly from sunrise to sunset, raising her eight children along with his six children from a previous marriage. She devoted herself to farm life, constantly cooking for a large family, tending a large garden, and preserving much of the harvest through canning for winter use. She was especially known for making the best bread and kolaches around.

Following these marriages, Jeannette moved to Provo, Utah, where she met and married Nolan Jackman. Together they welcomed one more son, Mark. Nolan passed away several years after Mark was born. Jeannette later married Jones Koyle, a rancher in Utah. Together they enjoyed ranch life in Oklahoma for several years before returning to Utah, where he later passed away.

Jeannette faced many challenges and hardships throughout her life, but through it all she maintained a steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her life and leaves a lasting legacy for the loved ones she leaves behind. She was unwavering in her support of family and friends, always encouraging others to live according to righteous principles. Her warm, caring, and tenacious spirit was a blessing to all who knew her, and she had a special gift for uplifting others.

She leaves behind her children: Jamie Mills, Jim Kovarik, Josephine Parrish, Ruby Oakley, Linda Emmet, Barbara Strate, and Mark Jackman.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Shadley; her sons, Jeff Kovarik and Jonathan Miller; and great-grandchildren Selah Pappenfuss, Madelyn Kovarik, Tyler Marx; and great-great granddaughter Eliza Kovarik.

Her life was one of hard work, faith, devotion, and love, and her influence will continue to be felt by generations to come.
