Jerry Westby

Jerry T. Westby, age 76, resident of Binford, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Jerry was born April 1, 1940 in Huron, SD the son of Thomas and Fern (Bales) Westby. He graduated high school in St. Lawrence, SD. On May 31, 1963 he married Verna Gaudig in Miller, SD. In 1970 they moved to McClusky, ND where Jerry went to work with Wanzek Construction. They later moved to Leonard, ND in 1979 where they owned and operated the grocery store and cafAC.. Jerry retired from Wanzek in 1991 and moved to Binford where they owned and operated Jerry's Place. Jerry also worked for several area farmers. Verna passed away October 22, 2011.

Jerry will be missed and remembered by his children Lori (Robert) Messner of Binford, ND, Lynn (Tyler) Anderson of Lisbon, ND, Sandra (Jesse) Bunn of West Fargo, ND, Jerry Westby, Jr. of Fargo, ND, Stephen Westby of West Fargo, ND and Jess (Amanda) Westby of Mandan, ND; his grandchildren Katherine (Bill) Carlson, Nicholas Anderson, Jason Anderson, Nora Bunn and Carson Bunn; his great granddaughter Macy Carlson and two future great grandchildren; his sister Jean and his brothers James, Doyle, Curtis, Carroll, Clair, and Dallas.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Verna, sister Linda and brothers Meryln, Myron and Warren.

Memorial services for Jerry will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00AM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation and family gathering will be one hour prior to services on Saturday.
