Joseph A. Bosh, 88, Lakota, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, with his wife and children at his side.
Joe was born January 21, 1928 on the family farm near Brocket to Joseph F. And Mary (Kratochvil) Bosh.
He married the love of his life Germaine Houdek on June 18, 1958 in Veseleyville. They farmed near Brocket and raised three children, Dennis, Diane and David. He retired from farming in 1996, and he and Germaine moved to Lakota eight years later. They held hands throughout their years together, and as he took his final breaths.
Joe was the greatest story teller to his little grandchildren, having honed his skill with his own kids on his lap many years before. Family and friends were very important to him, and he was surrounded by many people whose hearts he touched and who will miss his love and laughter. Almost everyone he met became a friend.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Germaine, and children Dennis (Beverly), Grand Forks; Diane (John) Kelly, Coon Rapids, MN; Dave (Paula), Minot. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Erin (Kris) Schriock, Jessica (Cory) Abrahamson, Patrick Bosh, and Ben, Bill and Steven Kelly. Great granddaughter Josie, and two more great grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by his two sisters, Arlene Pishtek, Minot and Mary (Juel) Oen, Maple Valley, WA.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, who has been waiting to see him again for 82 years, and his father, Joseph F. Bosh. Also preceded by his brother Leonard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lakota on Saturday, November 5, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Brocket.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Mary Catholic Church, the Lakota Ambulance, or a charity of your choice.
