Joseph Ridl

Joseph A. Ridl (Joe), 86, of Petersburg, ND, died on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Larimore, ND.

Joe was born on August 28, 1925 in Michigan, ND to August and Mary (Schanil) Ridl. He attended school in Michigan and in 1947 moved with his parents to a farm by Petersburg.

Joe was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Michigan where he was baptized and confirmed. He volunteered many hours to the Quad County Food Pantry, was an active member of the Petersburg Curling Club, and loved to spend time at Golden Lake. He worked for Artic Homes in Petersburg, Raymond Lamb, and several area farmers until he retired.

Joe is survived by two sisters, Frances Bjornstad of McVille and Dorothy LaHaise of Grand Forks; a special family of Joe's, Donald (Dianna) Larson of Grand Forks, Kevin Larson of Larimore, Corey (Heidi) Larson and family of Jamestown, Randy (Jen) Larson and family of West Fargo, and Tyler (LeAnn) Larson and family of Fargo; 20 nieces and nephews, 37 great nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers August Jr., Louis, Ted, and Patrick; sisters Mary and Rose; brothers-in-law Leo Danda, Darrel Maxson, Osborne Bjornstad, and Gerald LaHaise; sisters-in-law Myrla Ridl and Terrie Ridl; and dear friend Mildred Larson.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church, Michigan, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery.
