Justin R. Klefstad

Justin Robert Klefstad, age 39, passed away at his home in Fargo on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.

The son of Alan and Gayle (Flath) Klefstad, he was born Jan 28, 1978 in Fargo. The family lived in Buffalo, ND for the first 10 years of his life, then the family moved to Tolna where he attended junior high and high school. He graduated in 1996 from Dakota Prairie High School. He went on to attend UND in Grand Forks. The flood came in the spring of 1997 moving him to Fargo where he attended NDSU, and graduated in 2003.

Justin worked for his brother Andrew for the past 12 years at Scenic Landscaping in Fargo. He also worked for Used-a Bit pawn shop in Fargo in the off season. Justin loved sports, playing baseball and basketball in high school and going to state in both. He was an avid sports fan following major league and college teams like the NDSU Bison, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Minnesota Vikings. He set up many sports fantasy leagues, inviting the guys over to pick their teams and enjoy a bowl of home cooked chili. He was a very good cook and was always looking for a new way to bake chicken wings and new crock pot dishes.

Justin loved music and seeing his favorite bands live at concerts around the area. He also took trips to Red Rock Amphitheater in Denver and Las Vegas for concerts. He was known for his infectious smile, wit, smooth dance moves, and great debating skills. From building snow forts with his big brother and little sister to Star Wars Halloween costumes for his nieces and nephews on Christmas, there was never a dull moment when hanging out with Justin. He was truly one of a kind.

Justin is survived by his parents Alan and Gayle Klefstad of Tolna, his brother Andrew and his wife Tami Klefstad of West Fargo and their three children, Reese, Willow, and Jasper, his sister Quinn and her husband Adam Schenck of Hawley, MN and their three children Cale, Ryder, and Jocelyn. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Wanda and Chester Flath, paternal grandparents Mercedes and Arnot Klefstad, uncles Stuart Klefstad (Godfather), Duane Bina, Tim Halvorson, Gary VonBank, and aunt Cecilia Klefstad.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at American Lutheran Church, Tolna, ND with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church. Interment will take place later in Buffalo, ND.
