Kathleen Messner

Kathleen Mary Messner, age 66, resident of rural Pekin, ND went to her heavenly home Saturday, December 19, 2015.

Kathleen “Eenie” Mary Lynch was born May 4, 1949 to George and Kathryn (Dvirnak) Lynch of Dunn Center, ND. She was baptized at Killdeer Baptist Church. She attended grade school in Dunn Center then graduated from Killdeer High School in 1967. She then attended Jacks Hair Stylist College in Bismarck, ND. After graduating, she was a hairdresser in Dickinson, ND until November 1969. Kathleen married Douglas Messner on November 22, 1969 in Killdeer, ND. They moved to Waukegan, IL while Douglas was recuperating at Great Lakes Naval Hospital. After discharge they moved home to Pekin, ND in 1970. Kathleen worked as a beautician in Tolna, McVille, and Emerado before returning to open her own shop, Kathleen’s Kut & Kurl, in McVille in 1972 which she operated until retiring in 2011. She found enjoyment over the years in cooking, baking, gardening, music, art, bird watching, fishing, and hunting. She loved her family and friends and always found the time to visit.

Kathleen will be deeply missed by her mother and best friend Kathryn Lynch; husband Douglas Messner; 3 daughters Chrissy (Neil) Johnson of West Fargo, ND, Brandi (Wade) Lynch of Bismarck, ND, and Ashley (Brock) Johlfs of Bismarck, ND; 3 grandchildren Savanna, Augustus, and Nolan; her 4 legged kids Britches and Fudge; many nephews, nieces, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father George, brother David (Susan), and brother Allan.

The Memorial Service will be held at Sheyenne Lutheran Church of rural Pekin, ND on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin an hour prior to services in the church.
