Kay Arleen Restad was born on January 29, 1950, in Langdon, North Dakota. She graduated from Langdon High School and went on to complete cosmetology school in Fargo. For 25 years, she proudly owned and operated Kay’s Beautique in Lakota, North Dakota—a beloved gathering place where Kay’s warmth, talent, and laughter filled the room. She deeply valued her role in the community and the friendships she built through her salon.

A gifted crafter, Kay poured her heart into every creation, finding joy in sharing her handmade works with others. Her creativity and generosity touched countless lives.

She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on July 10, 2025.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Vivian Lundquist. Though her passing was sudden, her impact was immeasurable. No one loved quite like Kay—deeply, generously, and unconditionally.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, William, and their three children: Tami (Chenze) of Bakersfield, California; Kyle of Middleton, Idaho; and Cory of St. Johns, Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
