Keith grew up in McVille and attended McVille Public School. He continued his education at the Association Free Lutheran Bible School, Moorhead State University, and the Free Lutheran Seminary. Following God’s call on his life, Keith devoted himself to ministry, faithfully serving congregations in California, Iowa, Minnesota, and North Dakota. In addition, he served people as a financial planner with PrimAmerica.
Keith was known as a teacher, mentor, and an exceptional listener. He was easy to talk to and a gifted speaker who loved preparing messages from God’s Word, always striving to make them relevant and timely. He lived for and loved the Lord with joy, remaining faithful to the end. His genuine love and encouragement touched everyone he met. His kind heart and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on his congregations and friends alike.
Keith had a deep love for living in the Sheyenne River Valley, a place that brought him great joy and peace. It was a highlight having family and friends down to “the farm.” He valued connecting with people and learning their stories. He had a gift for staying in touch and nurturing friendships, making others feel valued and remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Hannah Quanbeck.
Keith is survived by his three siblings: Kathryn (Tim) Winkelman of Minneapolis, MN; Roger (Ruth) Quanbeck of Hallock, MN; and Ruth (Paul) Kneeland of Stover, MO. He is survived by nine nieces and nephews—Hanna, Tressa, Stephen, Andrew, Carissa, Karina, Rachel, Alisha, and Carter—as well as nineteen great nieces and nephews. His love for them ran deep and he took great joy in being a part of their lives.
Keith lived at Haven Homes for 4 ½ years. While there, he became a part of the Haven family and was loved well.
