Kenneth L. Overby

Kenneth Overby, age 89, resident of Cooperstown, ND, formerly Binford, ND, died Sunday, May 31st, 2015 in the Griggs County Care Center under the care of Hospice.

Kenneth Luverne Overby was born on June 10th, 1925 in Binford, ND to Chris A. Overby and Pearl (Davidson) Overby. Kenneth taught for several years in area country schools. On September 8th, 1951, Kenneth was united in marriage to Alma Omdal. They farmed in the Binford area until retiring in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Alma, his 3 children Mark (Pam) Overby, Nixa, MO, Peggy Price, Springer, NM, and Bruce (Elona) Overby, Binford, ND. 5 grandchildren, (Mark’s) Matthew and Braden, (Bruce’s) Tasha, Tanner and Trey. Kenneth is also survived by 4 siblings, Gordon (Myrtle) Overby, Binford, ND, Elton (Sylvia) Overby, Plentywood, MT, Carol Abrahamson, Fargo, ND and Clarice (Richard) Kadry, West Fargo, ND and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Kenneth will be held Friday, June 5th, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Midkota Elementary School Gymnasium in Binford, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4th, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel with a family service to follow at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services in the school. Interment will be held in the Binford Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care provided by the Griggs County Care Center and Hospice staff, and the many kind expressions extended toward the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of the Red River Valley or a charity of your choice.
