Kermit R. Kaufman, age 74 resident of Aneta, ND, formerly of Lakota, ND, died Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center.
Kermit Richard Kaufman was born December 17, 1941 at Bismarck, ND, the son of Arnold and Esther (Spitzer) Kaufman. He graduated from Lakota High School in 1959. Kermit then attended and played football at NDSU for one year. He also attended Mayville State College and ND State School of Science at Wahpeton, where he received his certificate in welding. Kermit was a member of the Iron Workers Union and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Kermit enjoyed taking on many high risk jobs such as; underwater welding, working on the Golden Gate Bridge, and on the oil pipeline in Alaska. He worked and traveled worldwide, mainly in California, Hawaii, and Nevada. Kermit had a love for riding his Harley’s. He was a collector from auction sales and he loved being around people, but most of all, he shared a deep faith for his Lord. Kermit was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church of Lakota, ND.
Kermit will be deeply missed by his sister, Sheila (Dale) Fisk of Doyon, ND; nieces and nephews, Rochelle (Patrick) Collins of Auburn, NE, Sarah (Eric) Lee of Shoreview, MN, Ryan Fisk of Doyon, ND, and Aaron (Erin) Fisk of Brownville, NE; 6 great nieces; and 4 great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ryan; and a great nephew.
The Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church of Lakota on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Timothy Stout and the organist will be Mavis Blake. Interment will be at the Lakota Cemetery. The casketbearers will be Ryan Fisk, Aaron Fisk, Patrick Collins, Eric Lee, Elliot Lee, James Fisk, and Everett Wiseman. Honorary casketbearers will be Rochelle Collins, Sarah Lee, Erin Fisk, Allison Anderson, Brant Fisk, Wesley Fisk, and Ashley Fisk. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
