Larry Gruman

Larry Gruman, age 75, of Hannaford, ND passed away Monday evening, November 9, 2015 at his home.

Larry was born to Joe and Rosie (Fiebiger) Gruman of Walum, ND. He attended Bartley Country School located 1 A½ miles from the farm in Walum and later graduated from Hannaford High School. He attended church at St. Mary's of Dazey.

Larry drove his first tractor without consent when he was 5 years old, which he ran into a tree. He was known for his jokester sense of humor. Larry started farming with his two brothers when he was 17. Larry served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked winters at Campbell Chain, and the ordinance plant in Burlington, IA. He married Pamela Lawrence on March 23, 1968. They opened up a family hardware store & laundromat operated by the family.

Larry enjoyed farming, cows, spending time with his grandchildren, telling jokes, and annoying his siblings.

Larry is survived by his wife Pamela of 47 years, daughters, Julie (Bret) Fehr of Wimbledon, ND and Kimberly (Eric) Cagan of Colorado Springs, CO and son Wade (Danielle) Gruman of Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren; Pete, Pamela, Brita, Olivia, Max and Jack Fehr, Allison & Drew Cagan, Cody Masters, and Justin Molfetto, three brothers Robert (Mary) Gruman of Aberdeen, SD, Jerry (Glenna) Gruman of Hannaford, ND and Allen Gruman of Cooperstown, ND and sister-in-law Denise Gruman of Sanborn, ND.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles Gruman.

Funeral services for Larry will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Dazey, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a family service at 5 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Dazey, ND. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Mervin J. Armstrong Legion Post #113 and the North Dakota Military Honors Team.
