Lavern Kelley

Lavern C. Kelley, age 83, of Blaine, MN, formerly of Lakota, ND, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at North Memorial Hospice Center in Robbinsdale, MN.
Lavern was born August 28, 1928 in Carpio , ND the daughter of Oscar and Mable (Johnson) Bakken. She attended and graduated from Lakota High School. After High School, she worked at the Lakota Court House. Lavern married Ivan E. Kelley on March 5, 1949 and they settled in Ely, MN. They returned to Lakota in 1995.
Lavern is survived by 3 daughters, Diana (Ken) Ferderber of Blaine, MN, Kathleen Grisco of Minneapolis, MN, and Sonja (Bernie) Tice of Mesa, AZ; six grandchildren, Ken Jr. (Alice), Carmen, Kelly, Kari (Doug), Craig and Amy Jo (Steve); ten great grandchildren; sister, Lenora Dahlen; brother, Marlin (Carol) Bakken; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Lavern was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ivan E. Kelley; parents, Oscar and Mable Bakken; brother, Milton Bakken; sister, Audrey Bakken.
Lavern's Memorial Service will be held at Lakota Lutheran Church, Lakota, ND, on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Becky Horn. The organist will be Karen Fowler and the soloist will be Jason Flom. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery following the service.
