Leroy Snyder

LeRoy Snyder, age 74, resident of Pekin , ND , died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND.

LeRoy was born February 4, 1936 on a farm in Torrington , WY the son of Elmer and Mollie (Miller) Snyder. He grew up in Wyoming and graduated from Wheatland , Wyoming in 1955. LeRoy ran track in high school, but his greatest love of sports was in football where he played running back. He was drafted into the army in 1958. In November of 1958 he married Rajeanne Morken in Alliance , NE. LeRoy was stationed out of Ft. Lewis , WA until 1960, after which he moved back to Wyoming . In 1969 he moved his family to North Dakota where he farmed and worked for farmers until present.

Grandpa LeRoy loved his grandchildren dearly. He loved to watch their games, take them hunting & fishing, and he always had the best advice.

LeRoy will be missed and remembered by his wife Rajeanne Snyder of Pekin, ND; sons Gene (Sue) Snyder of Williston, ND, Dale (Marie) Snyder of Devils Lake, ND and Wade (Jess) Snyder of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren Tyrone (Heidy) Snyder, Dustin (Melissa) Buth, Beau Snyder, Jordan Snyder and Drew Snyder; great grandchildren Rylee Snyder, Kassidy Snyder, Brookelynn Snyder and Mason Buth; brother Elmer Jr. (Darlene) Snyder; sisters Mary (Ed) Clark, Margaret (Dan) McGregger, Peggy (Ron) Dulenba and Shirley (Leo) Jantz; and many nieces & nephews who loved him as their grandpa LeRoy.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Reeves and grandson Joshua Snyder.

Funeral services for LeRoy will be Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Pekin Lutheran Church, Pekin, ND. Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2010 from 3 PM to 7 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Pekin Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #162 of Tolna, ND. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille, ND.
