Lois Eileen Kovarik, 81, of rural Lankin, ND, passed away on May 28, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 7, 1944, to Clarence and Josephine (Hansen) Salberg in Valley City, ND, Lois graduated from Edinburg High School, Edinburg ND. She was working at Bordens in Grafton, where she met Roger, the love of her life. They married on May 4, 1968, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bechyne and were blessed with seven daughters. Lois was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, the Altar Society, and the Bechyne Heritage Hall.

Lois was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who treasured every moment with her family. She loved baking, gardening, and canning, and was an accomplished seamstress, crafting everything from pajamas to dresses and baptismal gowns for each of her grandchildren. Known for her baking, she often joked that if you left her home hungry, it was your own fault!

Lois is survived and deeply missed by her six daughters: Kristi Kovarik (Daryn Wambem) of Grand Forks, ND; Cheryl Storhoff (Wayne Barreth) of Valley City, ND; Kathy (Kelly) Houser of Park River, ND; Nancy Kovarik of Minot, ND; Julie (Steve) Anderson of Manvel, ND; and Pam Kovarik of Lankin, ND. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Taylor and Alec (Sam) Storhoff; Samantha, Brandon, and Madison Houser; Brayden Kovarik and Roger LaFromboise; Logan and Lexie Anderson; as well as her brother, Bob (Henri) Salberg of Hillman, MN, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents, Clarence and Josephine Salberg; her daughter, Denise Kovarik; her brother, Dick Salberg; and her sisters, Irene Ketterling and Joyce Pederson, along with brother-in-law John Ketterling.
