Lois Schiller, 89, of McVille, ND, passed away the morning of July 31, 2012 surrounded by family at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Lois Josephine Schiller was born on April 16, 1923 in McVille to Andrew and Alma (Boostrom) Erickson. After graduating from McVille High School in 1941, she attended Dakota Business College in Fargo. She worked at the Cass County Auditors office in Fargo until September of 1945. Lois married Ralph Schiller of Tolna in 1945. They farmed south of Tolna until 1948 and then moved to a farm south of Petersburg. They took an active part in Melrose Lutheran Church until moving to Grand Forks in 1956. She worked in the Circulation Department at the Grand Forks Herald for 4 years and then worked for L.J Prochaska until returning to McVille in 1968. She was employed at the Community Hospital as acting administrator and later as office manager. She took a correspondence course in medical records and earned an Accredited Record Certificate. She retired in 1984 following surgery, but kept active in medical records consulting work. She was active in her church and community.
Lois is survived by sons Randy Schiller of Renton, WA and Myron (Grace) Schiller of Petersburg, ND; sister Avis (Robert) Frigaard of Roseville, MN; 9 grandchildren: Kari, Joshua, Kristi, Katie, Stephanie, Andre, Alisha, Marissa, and Austin, and 6 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Rio, Riley, Kayden, Kayleigh, and Jaycee and nieces Kathy (Clayton) Ward, Audrey (Marlin) Reinhart and their families.
She was preceded in death by daughter Mary Regevig, twin sister Lillian Gronaas and niece Annette Hebbelman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at McVille Lutheran Church
