Lucille Cora Tufte, 92, Lakota, ND, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Altru Hospital, Devils Lake, ND.

Lucille was born December 4, 1933 to Anton and Cora (Sorenson) Johnson, on the farm north of Bartlett, ND. She grew up and attended Cleveland country school and graduated from Lakota High School. She married Raymond Tufte on November 15, 1951 at Lakota. Lucille helped Raymond on the farm and also worked at the nursing home in Lakota for over 30 years. She was an active member of Lakota Lutheran Church and belonged to the Cleveland Homemakers.

She is survived by her son, Ronald, Lakota; two brothers, Clifford (Lilah) Johnson, Mandan, ND and Larry (Pat) Johnson, Lakota; sister-in-law, Irene Johnson, Silver Bay, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents; sister, Blanche; and two brothers, Elvin and Willis Johnson.

A funeral service for Lucille will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Lakota Lutheran Church, Lakota, ND with visitation beginning at 9:30.

Burial will be held at the Lakota Cemetery.
