Margaret D. Berdahl

Margaret Dorothy (Reineke) Berdahl, age 90, resident of Lakota, ND, formerly of Michigan, ND, passed away unexpectedly September 11, 2016 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Society.

Marge was born February 27, 1926 in Beardsley, MN, the daughter of John and Emma (Holtz) Reineke. She grew up in Michigan, ND where she married Newell Berdahl on November 20, 1957. They were married for 49 years when Gib passed away in 2007. During this time they raised four daughters. Marge enjoyed her time working at The Kite CafAC.’ and was a member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church. She also enjoyed watching her grandkids and great grandkids grow up through the years.

Survivors include her daughters, Joann (Tim) Marsh of Jamestown, ND, Betty (Mark) Paplow, Pam (Kim) Burkland, and Barb Kjorsvik all of Lakota; grandchildren, Courtney (Carl) Caron, Maggie (Derrick) Marquart, Cody (Teresa) Devlin, Cassie Devlin (Brady Tweed), Hayley (Joey) Ross, Emily Burkland, Kahlen and Amie Kjorsvik; step-grandchildren, Richie (LeAnn) Marsh, Billie Jo (Dave) Naysmith; and 14 great grandchildren; sister, Jo Hankel; brother-in-law, Donald Buzzell; sisters-in-law, Arlene Berdahl, Janice Berdahl, and Elaine Berdahl; and many nieces and nephews.

Marge was preceded in death by Gib; her parents; an infant son, Newell Jr; sisters, Aggie Ryba, Tracy Miller, Mary Anderson, Helen Floren, and Patty Buzzell; brothers, James Reineke, William Reineke, and John Reineke.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church of Michigan, ND on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Steven Meyer. Music will be provided by Jason Flom. Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour prior to Mass.
