Obituary

Margaret Hanesalo was born on September 10,1924 to Joseph and Annie Svercl. She grew up on the farmstead where she was born.

She married Verner Hanesalo, and then he went off to fight in World War II. While he was gone, she gave birth to a baby, who passed away soon after birth.

They purchased a farm and lived for over 40 years on that farm. Margaret gave birth to a girl and then a boy. She worked hard as a farmer's wife. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Her caramel rolls were enjoyed by so many.

When their son began to take over the farm they moved to Brainerd, where their daughter and her family lived.

They lived there until Verner passed away. Margaret decided to move to Michigan, North Dakota, a short distance from the farm where she lived most of her life. From there she moved to Devils Lake where she eventually passed away at the age of 101.

Margaret's husband Verner, her son, Gary, her infant daughter Marie, and four siblings preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Gary) Johnson; her granddaughters, Kristin and Suzanne; her great-granddaughters, Sage, Dhara, Lauren, Molly, and Hannah; and her great-great-granddaughter, Bella.

Per Margaret's wishes, a funeral will not be held.

Burial will be held at a later date with immediate family members present.
