Margaret J. Kubat, age 89, resident of Lakota, ND, formerly of rural Lawton, ND, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota, ND.
Margaret Josephine Pich was born March 30, 1924 in Kingsland, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Louis and Albina (Vasichek) Pich. She was raised and attended school in Canada. She moved to North Dakota in 1946. Margaret married Eugene Kubat on October 13, 1947 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Lomice. Margaret was a hard worker. She did many of the chores with Eugene on their farm near Lawton and raised their 2 sons there. Marge was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and the Altar Society until it closed. She was an excellent cook and provided that talent to the Sauter School for several years. She enjoyed gardening, but especially loved and cared for her grandchildren. She moved to the Good Samaritan Society in April of 2012. Eugene died January 2, 2013.
Marge is survived by her 2 sons, Terrence Eugene (Vicki) of Langdon, ND and Randy (special friend, Laurie) of Thornton, CO; 5 grandchildren, Troy (Gemma) of Rogers, AR, Brent (Amber) of Montgomery, MN, Brooke of Grand Forks, ND, Kelsey of Keystone, CO, and Justin of Thornton, CO; 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Landon, Austin, Ayden, and Briley; a brother, Jack of Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada; a sister, Gladys of Kindred, ND; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Harvey Eugene Kubat; a sister, Georgia Cadler; and a brother, Harold Pich.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Lakota, ND, on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in St. Catherine Catholic Church Cemetery, Lomice, rural Lawton, ND. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
