Marilyn A. Quanbeck

Marilyn A. Quanbeck, age 92, resident of McVille, ND, died Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the NCHS Care Center in McVille.
Marilyn A. Gisselquist was born March 21, 1930 to Rev. John O. and Ida Gisselquist in Centerville, SD. She moved with her family to Minneapolis, MN in 1937 where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Minnehaha Academy in 1947. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from Lutheran Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She practiced nursing in Minnesota, North Carolina, and California. She married Vardon Quanbeck on February 14, 1976. Marilyn has been an active member of New Luther Valley Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.
Marilyn is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Mark) Smeets; a son, Stephen (Norma) Combs; 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vardon; and brother, Orloue Gisselquist.
The Funeral Service will be held at New Luther Valley Lutheran Church, McVille, ND, on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the spring at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
