Marion A Devlin, age 96, died on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Sanford Health Care Center in Hillsboro, ND.

Marion Amy Odden was born on December 11, 1918 to Emil and Otilia (Williams) Odden at her grandfather’s home in Golden Lake Township. She graduated from Portland High School and attended Moorhead State Teacher’s College where she received a teaching standard. She later went back to college and received her bachelor of science in education from Mayville State College. Marion taught in country schools, and schools in McVille, Tolna and Hope.

She married Robert Devlin on Aug 14, 1942 at Camp Barkeley, TX. They had three children Michael, Daniel and Mary. Bob died in 1973.

Marion was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, she was President of the Red River Retired Teachers Association. She was an active member of the Jefferson-Steinke American Legion Auxiliary and served as District One President. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran and served on the church council and was active in WELCA.

Marion is survived by her son, Michael (Georgie), Lawrence, KS; daughter, Mary, Washburn; grandsons, Brandon (Andria) and Ryan, Lawrence KS, Dan (Tara), Marina, CA, and Rob (Lara), Monterey, CA. She had two great-grandsons, Sean and Conor, Lawrence, KS; and four great-granddaughters, Reilly, Elliott, Parker, Marina, CA, and Caden, Monterey, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son Daniel and daughter-in-law, Darlene.

Memorial services for Marion will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hope, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery, Hope, ND.
