Marion S. Morseth, age 89, resident of Fargo, ND, formerly of Edmore, ND, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Marion Selma Settingsgard was born July 28, 1922 on the family farm in Newland Township near Edmore, ND, the daughter of George and Theoline (Staven) Settingsgard. She was raised on the farm and attended the township school. She then attended and graduated from Edmore High School. Marion received a teaching certificate from Mayville State Teachers College. She taught at the Prospect Township School near Edmore and the Easby Township School near Osnabrock. Marion married Rudolph "Duff" Morseth on November 18, 1945 in Edmore. They lived and farmed together on the Morseth family farmstead. Marion began working at the school in Edmore in 1968. She was the secretary/business manager until her retirement in 1994. They moved to Fargo in 2001. Duff passed away on June 1, 2008. Marion was very active with the Edmore Community Club and served as the club president in the past. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. While living in Fargo, she was a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church Wednesday Quilting Group. She loved spending her time cooking and visiting with family and friends.

Marion will be greatly missed by her 3 children, Renae (Burnell) Skjervheim of Langdon, ND, Nadine (Dan) Anderson of Fargo, ND, and Randall Morseth of Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren, Kory Gjesdal, Danielle Morseth, Taylor Morseth, and Stephen Anderson; 2 great-grandchildren, Gavyn and Parker Gjesdal; a brother, Grant (Donna) Settingsgard of Edmore, ND; a sister-in-law, Olga Wallace of Killdeer, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Doris Ann Settingsgard; a grandson, Kirk Gjesdal; and a son-in-law, Fred Gjesdal.

Marion 's Funeral Service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church of Edmore, ND, on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Edmore Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
