Marlin (Marlo) Freddie Rolland, 73, of Pekin, ND died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Altru Health System Hospital in Grand Forks, ND after a long struggle with COPD.
Marlin was born April 26, 1940 in Portal, ND. His parents were Evelyn (Hill-Johnson) and Alfred Rolland. Marlo attended school in Lakota, ND. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army. Marlo married Ardis Flom on March 15, 1985. He worked many years doing mechanical & auto body work, and also worked as a farm hand & cattle rancher. Marlo enjoyed racing sprint cars, watching NASCAR and visiting with family and friends.
Marlin is survived by his wife Ardis Rolland of Pekin, ND; sons Cale (Nancy) Rolland of Glenburn, ND and Tim Rolland; step children Tim Flom of Lakota, ND, Dennis (Stanna) Flom of Harwood, ND, Carolyn (Scott) Stammen of Stanley, ND; grandchildren Anthony, Lana & Terese Rolland, Halle, Payton, McKenna, Carter & Cole Rolland, Chris Sherve, Caleb & Levi Stammen, Tanner & Taylin Flom; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Arlene (Jim) Hendrick, Darlene (K.C.) Lewis, and Pam Pokeny, all of Great Falls, MT; and brothers Wayne Rolland of Arizona and Kenneth Johnson of Great Falls, MT.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim Johnson.
Funeral services for Marlin will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Lakota Lutheran Church, Lakota, ND. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be at a later date in the Lakota Cemetery.
