Marvin L. Jallo, age 77, resident of Petersburg, ND, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at his home.

Marvin Larry Jallo was born August 13, 1939 at Fordville, ND, the son of Albert Sr. and Olga (Wiste) Jallo. He was raised on the family farm, was confirmed at Quale Lutheran Church, attended Cleveland Township School #54, and graduated from Dahlen High School in 1957. Marvin married Darlene “Dolly” Yoney on October 13, 1957 at the Petersburg Lutheran Church. He managed the Petersburg elevator then worked for Polar Communications before moving to Everett, WA in 1966. While there he worked for Scott Paper Company until he began his career with General Telephone, where he worked until his retirement. In 2003 Marvin and Dolly moved to Petersburg. He enjoyed helping on the Ternquist farm, as well as the city of Petersburg, and anyone that needed a hand. Marvin also cared for Dolly until her death on September 5, 2012. He was a member of the Petersburg Lutheran Church, the Church Council, and loved to hunt & fish. He was a social butterfly and a friend to everyone. When friends would come to visit, he would invite them to “come on in”.

Marvin will be deeply missed by his 5 children, Lori (Allen) Ternquist of Michigan, ND, Steven (Lisa) Jallo and Randy Jallo, both of Lake Stevens, WA, Tami (Tom) Piasecki of Snohomish, WA, and Crystal (Rich) Magnussen of East Wenatchee, WA; 12 grandchildren, Hunter Jallo, Parker Jallo, Stacey (Chuck) Wilson, Landon Jallo, Nicole Jallo, Megan Ternquist, Andrew Ternquist, Danielle (Ryan) Sitzman, Amy (Sam Pemble) Piasecki, Michael (Jourdain) Piasecki, Mark Magnussen, and Erik Magnussen; 5 great grandchildren, Kylie, Jenna, Thomas, Paisley, and Easton; a sister, Gladys Zittle; 3 brothers, Harold (Carol) Jallo, Elden (LaVonne) Jallo, and Albert (Marge) Jallo Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 4 brothers, Orvin, Arnold, Clarence, and Gene; and 3 sisters, Ruella Ruzicka, Edith Mullenhour, and Lyla Bryan.

Marvin’s Funeral Service will be held at the Petersburg Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Val Teppo. The organist will be Jason Flom and the soloist will be Mary Ralston. Interment will be in the Petersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
