Marvin E. Wigen, age 85, resident of Lakota, ND, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his home.
Marvin Eugene Wigen was born April 8, 1937 in Lakota, ND, the son of Belford and Mary Ellen (Uriell) Wigen. At a young age, he moved with his family to Minnesota, where he was raised and educated. He moved to Lakota in his 20’s in order to work as a truck mechanic for the Knetter Cheese Factory for over 30 years. Marvin married Carol J. Robinson on June 24, 1972. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and Carol’s apple pie. He thoroughly loved gardening and yard work, in which he took great pride.
Marvin will be deeply missed by his 3 children, David Wigen & his wife Jenny of Lakota, Daniel Wigen of Donnybrook, ND, and Jennifer Taylor & her husband Matthew of Seattle, WA; 3 granddaughters, Ava & Ivy Taylor, and Shania Wigen; 3 brothers, Roger (Charlotte) Wigen, Bob (Lois) Wigen, and Julian (Lois) Wigen; 1 sister, Eleanor Sather; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; 3 brothers, Philip, Wallace, and Michael in infancy; and brother-in-law, Glenn Sather.
The Memorial Service for Marvin will be held at Lakota Lutheran Church, Lakota, ND, on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery.
