Mary Lou Krogh, 83, McVille, ND passed away at her home on Friday, May 9, 2025.
Mary Lou was born on September 29, 1941, to William “Bill” and Helena (Bothun) Semler. She was baptized and confirmed at McVille Lutheran Church. She graduated from McVille High School in 1959 and attended Valley City State University in Valley City, ND. She graduated from there in 1963 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school in Valley City from 1963-1967.
On May 29, 1965, she married Jerome Krogh and moved to the Krogh farm in rural McVille. Mary Lou was a devoted teacher at McVille Elementary School from 1968 and retired in 2004. With quiet strength, humility, and unwavering generosity, Mary Lou touched the lives of countless students and community members, leaving an indelible mark that will be remembered for generations.
Mary Lou was a committed member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in rural Kloten. She was the organist for more than 50 years and was instrumental in organizing Sunday School Christmas programs for years. She led the Sunday School music program, was an active member of the Ladies Aid, and served as the financial secretary for both Our Saviors church and cemetery. She was immersed in numerous organizations around the area including American Legion Auxiliary Ole Semling Unit 135 of McVille, where she was a lifetime member.
She is survived by cousins, several godchildren, and by numerous close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; sister, Louida; and brother, LeRoy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, rural Kloten, with visitation one hour before the service.
Burial will be immediately following the ceremony at Our Saviors Church Cemetery.
