Maxine Louise (Fahey) Anseth, age 90, resident of Lakota, ND, died at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
Maxine was born September 28, 1921 in Lakota to Jim and Eva (Simons) Fahey. She grew up on the family farm 3 miles north of Lakota, and Graduated from the Lakota High School in 1940. Maxine worked at the GPA Ration Office during WWII. December 28, 1943 Maxine married Harold Anseth at Camp Carson, Colorado. After the war, Maxine and Harold farmed south of Lakota until 1953. Maxine also worked at the ASC Office, the Nelson County Farm Bureau, and was an agent for Nodak Mutual Insurance. Maxine was a life-long member of St Mary's Altar Society and the Lakota American Legion Auxiliary.
Maxine is survived by sons, Marvin (Mary) Anseth, Turtle Lake, Tom (Linda) Anseth, Mandan, and Ron Anseth, Grand Forks; daughters, Mary (Kenny) Eli, Cooperstown, and Pam (Gene) Wahlsdorf, Bismarck; daughter-in-law, Fern Anseth, Kalona, Iowa; sister, Patty Schuh, Lakota; sister-in-law, Mable Fahey, Lakota; brother-in-law, Davis Rainsberry, Lakota; and many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Maxine was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, son Jim, grandchildren Jill and Max, brother Gerald Fahey, sisters Rita Schuh, Dorothy Hanson, and Ramona Rainsberry.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lakota 10:00 am Tuesday, March 6. Visitation and family gathering will be at the Aaker Funeral Home in Lakota from 6 to 9 pm Monday with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 6:30 pm. Maxine will be laid to rest at the Lakota Cemetery following Mass.
