Melvin Peter Wenstad's Obituary

Melvin Peter Wenstad, age 79 of Michigan, ND passed away surrounded by family on April 4, 2026 at Aneta Parkview Health Center after a long struggle with Parkinson’s.

Pete was born May 29,1947 in Bottineau, ND to Laurence and Lela (Satrang) Wenstad. Third-born of 13 children, he grew up on the family farm in Dunseith, ND and attended the local Beaver Dam country school. A man of many interests and talents, Pete worked for Rauenhorst Construction Company before starting his own local business, Pete’s Handyman Construction. Later in life, Pete returned to North Dakota, settling in the small town of Michigan where he spent time remodeling his home as he continued to work construction in the community. He enjoyed writing poems and stories, gardening, cooking, playing guitar and writing music, country music and reading the Bible. Pete always had a quick smile and witty comment ready. He will be remembered for his unique carpentry style, woodworking talent and his generous and willing spirit.
