Michael J. Hassett

Michael Hassett, age 64, resident of Devils Lake, ND, died Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home in Devils Lake.

Michael J. Hassett was born January 2, 1960 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of James and Jean (Sparks) Hassett.  He grew up and attended school in Devils Lake.  He worked various jobs, but thoroughly enjoyed working for Strata Corp. in road construction.  Mike followed politics and was a big supporter of Donald Trump.  He played bass guitar for many years with The North Band.  He was very proud of his daughter, Amber, and all of his nephews & nieces.  He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, and spending time with friends at Nellie’s.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Amber Bertsch of Seattle, WA; 6 siblings, Sandra (John) Horton of Albuquerque, NM, Byron Hassett of Devils Lake, Lee (Sandra) Hassett of Buxton, ND, Phyllis Hassett of Kalama, WA, Shelley (Bob) Brackemyer of North Little Rock, AR, and Janine (Paul) Kalinowski of Hoosick Falls, NY; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Roy Hassett and Kevin Hassett; sister, Audrey Radermacher; and a nephew, Christopher Sherland.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, for a time of remembrance and sharing on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
