Mildred C. Kelley, age 91, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of rural Fordville, ND, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks.

Mildred Corrine Johnson was born March 11, 1924 in Cleveland Township of Walsh County, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Alma Johnson. Mildred married Orville Kelley on May 1, 1943 in Crookston, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Lead, SD for a short time before returning to the Kelley farm near Fordville. They operated the family farm and raised 4 children together. Mildred also worked in the potato fields for the Jonk farm. Orville died April 13, 2006. Mildred was a member of the Quale Lutheran Church and WELCA, she was also a lifelong member of the Lankin American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her flower gardens, quilting, baking, and sending her baked goods home with her family & friends that came to visit.

Mildred will be missed by her 4 children, Geraldine (Dennis) Borgen of Aneta, ND, Diane (Wes) Kinneberg of Bemidji, MN, Nancy (Terry) Kinneberg of Petersburg, ND, and David (Annette) Kelley of Grand Forks; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 28 great great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sisters, Margaret Johnson and Julia Quam; a brother, Omer Johnson; and 2 grandsons, Curtis & Kevin Borgen.

The Funeral Service will be held at Quale Lutheran Church, rural Fordville, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
