Nancy M. Haugen

Nancy M. Haugen, age 66, resident of Grafton, ND, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Unity Medical Center in Grafton.

Nancy Marie Haugen was born October 16, 1950 at Fordville, ND, the daughter of Palmer and Louise (O’Neil) Haugen of Michigan, ND. Nancy was raised in Michigan and graduated from Michigan High School in 1968. She then attended Lake Region State College in Devils Lake for one year before starting her career at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton. Nancy has lived in Grafton since that time, retiring from Lutheran Sunset Home in 2013 after 44 years of service. Nancy enjoyed playing softball with a Grafton team for several years, and was a faithful follower & fan of the Minnesota Twins.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Larry (Mary) Haugen of Bottineau, ND, and their children, Natalie, Kristin, and John; 11 nieces & nephew; and many Haugen & O’Neil cousins.

The Funeral Service for Nancy will be held at the Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Stover. The organist will be Paula Narum and the soloist will be Abby Slyter. Burial will follow at the Michigan Cemetery. The casketbearers will be Doug Moen, John Haugen, Austin Kerslake, Ethan Kerslake, Mike Haugen, and Matthew O’Neil. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
