Nancy Lorraine Stenberg

Nancy Lorraine Stenberg passed away Sunday, May 31st, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after a courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born Dec. 3rd, 1957, in Sacramento, CA the daughter of Dennis & Marilyn (Loe) Stenberg. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She moved with her family to N.D. and later to Michigan before returning to N.D. She graduated from Tolna High School and attended Concordia College , UND and Dickinson State. She lived in New Mexico for several years, and then moved to Gillette, WY., where she worked for the Campbell County Treasurers Dept. She moved to Iowa and then returned to Pekin where she became caretakers for her parents. Nancy was a member of the Pekin Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid, quilting and the choir.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Marilyn Stenberg of Pekin, ND, sisters Denise Stenberg of Lakota, ND, Nadine Salwey (David) of Swisher, IA, Melissa Stenberg of Minneapolis, MN, Laurel Bogers of Cedar Rapids, IA, a brother Jason of Pekin, 7 nieces and nephews, Carissa(Andy), Danielle, Brianna, Nicole, Justin, Ashley and Jarred, and 2 great nephews, Nathan and Henry.

Nancy is preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Dennis and her nephew Daniel.

Funeral services for Nancy will be Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Pekin Lutheran Church, Pekin, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services in the church. Private family interment will be at a later date in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, ND. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home.
