Neal E. Jorde

Neal E. Jorde, age 54, resident of Lakota, ND, passed away peacefully with his mother at his bedside on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Devils Lake, ND.

Neal Elwood Jorde was born March 15, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Elwood and Verna (Hillestad) Jorde.  He was raised on the family farm near Michigan, ND and attended the McVille Public School, graduating with the class of 1981.  Neal enjoyed farming and helping his father in the field for many years.  He also worked at Pribbs Steel in Grand Forks as well as other farmers in the area.  Neal’s passion was riding his motorcycle and snowmobile.  He loved his garden and spent many hours canning and freezing his vegetables.  Neal was loved by many and will be missed by his family and friends.

Neal will be missed by his mother, Verna Jorde of rural Michigan, ND; sister, Elaine (Dale) Jones of Eagan, MN; brother, Rodney (Kelly) Jorde of Lakota, ND; his nieces & nephew; and 2 aunts, Eileen Iverson of Grand Forks and Phyllis Jorde of Tolna, ND.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood; and nephew, Dustin Jorde.

The Funeral Service for Neal will be held at the Michigan Lutheran Church of Michigan, ND, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the spring at the Center Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
