Paula Ann Lindvall

Paula (Maatta) Lindvall, 62, passed away on November 29, 2025, at her home in rural Lakota, ND.

Born on November 6, 1963, in Michigan, ND, Paula was the daughter of Onni and Vieno (Niskanen) Maatta. She was proud of her full-blooded Finnish heritage and carried that legacy with strength and resilience throughout her life.

Paula’s life was marked by a strong will and a determined spirit that left a lasting impression on those who knew her. Her presence was one of quiet strength and unwavering resolve-a reflection of the cultural roots she held dear.

She is survived by her husband, James Lindvall of Lakota; her sister, Marja Nygaard of Bismarck, ND; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, stepchildren, and step-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward memories shaped by Paula’s enduring character and influence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Onni and Vieno Maatta; and her sister, Laila Strand.
