Peter Wall

Peter J. Wall, age 62, resident of McVille, ND, formerly Sharon, ND passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Larimore, ND.

Peter was born October 12, 1951 in Northwood, ND the son of Peter S. and Edith (Olson) Wall. He attended Logan Center country school, Northwood High School before receiving his GED in the Navy. He married Mary Jo Lee on November 16, 1974. Peter served in the US Navy from 1969 until 1973. He entered the US Coast Guard in 1978. While in the Coast Guard Peter was stationed on the CG Hamilton and the Unimak in Massachusetts. Peter was the security watch captain at the support center Kodiak in Kodiak, Alaska. He was then stationed on the CG Storis and CG Yocona in Kodiak conducting law enforcement boardings and in charge of the armory. He was stationed at base Mobile, Alabama at the armory as a small arms instructor. He was stationed at the USCG Marine Safety Office in Valdez, Alaska as assistant chief of past operations conducting safety boarding and marine safety facility inspections. Peter retired from the USCG in 1995 as an E-8 (chief), he and the family moved back to North Dakota. Peter worked for Wayne Reinhart Electric of Hatton, ND, Earl Palmer, Jim Vig and Dale Good of Sharon helping out on their farms. Pete was an avid fisherman of Salmon and Halibut in Alaska. He loved to hunt and trap shoot. Pete loved fighting Sioux hockey and had his special horn for goals! He was a lifetime member of the NRA and VFW.

Peter will be missed and remembered by his wife Mary Jo Wall of McVille, ND, son Leif Erik Wall of Grand Forks, ND, grandson Gunner Zlotkowski of McVille, ND, sisters Barb (Mike) Hillebrand of New Rockford, ND and Sandy (Steven) Smallbeck of Grand Forks, ND, brother Brian (Jill Kroke) Wall of Northwood, ND, along with several nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kristi and nephew Trey.

Memorial services for Peter will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00AM in the Sundahl Lutheran Church of Aneta, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church.
