Ralph H. Anderson

Ralph H. Anderson, age 96, resident of Edmore, ND, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at First Care Health Center in Park River, ND.

Ralph Henry Anderson was born May 1, 1921 at Derrick, ND, the son of Henry and Ella (Elshaug) Anderson. He was baptized, confirmed, and attended school in the area. He then farmed with his brother, Harry. Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 20, 1945 and served in Germany with the 332nd Engineering Regiment constructing buildings. He was honorably discharged on February 18, 1947 with the rank of Private First Class. Ralph married Jeaneen E. Deseth on October 20, 1948, and were blessed with 2 wonderful sons. Ralph farmed with Herbert Legacie before he started his own farming operation. Ralph retired from farming, but continued working as hard as ever. He wanted to help his community, so Ralph mowed lawns for the city of Edmore, the Edmore Cemetery, and any neighbor that needed a hand. Jeaneen died October 9, 2011. Ralph continued living in Edmore, where he loved playing cards with friends. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Ralph will be missed by his son, Dan Anderson of Fessenden, ND, and his 2 children, Christopher Anderson of Bismarck and Laura Anderson and her fiancAC., Tyler Gigstead and her daughter, RaeLynn of Fargo, ND; his son, Dale Anderson of Edmore, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeaneen; 2 sisters, Voila Anderson and Lillian Landsem; and 5 brothers, Alvin, Lloyd, William, Martin, and Harry.

The Memorial Service for Ralph will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church of Edmore, ND, on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Edmore Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
