Raymond Lawrence Savre, 67, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at his daughter's home in Bismarck , ND after a bout with cancer.

Ray was born January 1, 1942 in Cooperstown, ND to Avery Brush "Moonie" and Frances (Fritz) Savre. He was raised in Cooperstown and attended Cooperstown Public Schools. He served in the US Army. Ray was a talented carpenter and farmer. As a young man he worked at the Cooperstown Elevator and used his carpentry skills to help his family build homes. He spent a majority of his life working on the family farm.

Ray was a quiet and tender-hearted man whom loved his family unconditionally. Ray embraced the traditional things in life-decorating the Christmas tree, coloring Easter eggs, carving pumpkins, making holiday meals including lefse and kumla. He spent time with family playing cards, farming, fishing, watching movies and putting puzzles together with his grandkids. If you knew Ray, you knew he was a Ford-guy through and through. He looked forward to watching racing on Sundays, especially when Fords were dominating.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Avery Joseph Savre.

Ray will be missed deeply by many including his daughters Ramie (Doug) Turner, Bismarck ND, Jessie Savre, Loveland CO, Sara (Jimmy) Simon, Coto De Caza CA, five grandchildren, a brother Donald (Jean) Savre, and nephews Preston (Athena) Savre and Jason Savre all of Cooperstown.
