Reece David Jorde, age 8, of rural Tolna , ND passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 near his family's home in Tolna.
Reece was a 9 pound 15 ounce bundle of joy born in Devils Lake, ND on September 16, 2005 to Todd and Lisa (Lee) Jorde. On the farm he learned quickly how to care for animals and others. More than once Reece and his brothers would be bottle feeding calves or tending to the kittens in the barn. Sports became important to Reece and although he was competitive, he was thoughtful and not mean spirited towards others. He even invented a new game when he crossed hockey with soccer, Reece called it "Hocker". You could see him at sporting events wearing his lime green shoelaces because they made him go faster. Reece enjoyed fishing, tubing and playing at the lake. He was a rough and wild farm kid at times and always wore his emotions on his face.
Reece will be deeply missed and remembered by his loving parents Todd & Lisa, his brothers Jordan & Trey, all of Tolna; his paternal grandmother Phyllis Jorde of Tolna; his maternal grandfather David Lee of Tolna; his maternal grandmother LaVonne Lee of Valley City, ND; aunt Pam Benson of Fargo, ND, uncles Brian (Rachel) Lee of Drayton, ND and Darren (Melissa) Lee of Tolna, ND; cousins Bailey & Britny Benson, Preston, Jasmine & Savannah Lee, along with his godparents Joe & Laura Gyhra and many friends.
Reece was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Vernon Jorde.
The family would request those attending the funeral services to wear casual clothes, maybe bright colors or a sport shirt. Most recently his favorite brand was Under Armour so if you own any please wear that in honor of Reece. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00AM in the American Lutheran Church of Tolna. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 5PM to 7PM with a 7PM prayer service in the American Lutheran Church of Tolna. Interment will be in the Tolna Cemetery.
