Russell Charles Nolan, age 57, resident of Cooperstown, ND died at home on Thursday, January 16, 2014.

Russell was born on October 22, 1956 in Chelsea, MA and raised by Joel and Corinne (Meredith) Randall. He grew up in Williamsburg, VA. In 1973 he joined the Army and was stationed in Korea. When he returned he worked as a framing carpenter in Phoenix, AZ, he also worked as a custodian in Raleigh, NC hospital. He spent many years as a parts manager for Komatsu Equipment. He also worked years at Caterpillar and Case Power & Equipment. Russell met Crystal Germundson at a bowling alley in 1985 and they were married September 9, 1989. After Case & Company was sold the Nolan family moved to Moline, IL where he worked for Murphy Brothers Pipeline Company. In January 1994 Russell & family moved back to ND. He worked at Sheyenne Tooling, Cenex in Hope, ND and TSR in Colgate, ND. Russell spent the last 14 years working for Posi Lock Puller as a warehouse manager.

Russell loved his 4 children immensely. He was an avid golfer, pool player, cribbage player, and enjoyed ice fishing. He'd go to any length for a laugh. He always had a sarcastic comment or a wise crack or two.

Russell is survived by his wife Crystal (Germundson) Nolan, children; Erin, Joyce, Ethan and Caleb, grandson Dawson, brother Brian (Joyce) Randall and sister Corinne (Steven) Walton.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services for Russell will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Cooperstown, ND. Officiating will be Reverend Charles E. Johnson and Reverend Michael Jacobson. Organist will be Kathy Soma-Gawronski. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to WeeCare Day Care Center or the Cooperstown Country Club, both in Cooperstown.
