Ruth Fretz, 78, of McVille, ND, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Nelson County Health System-Hospital in McVille.
Ruth was born May 7, 1934 in Germany the daughter of Max and Martha (Lochmann) Ulbrich. She was educated in East Germany before escaping to West Germany at age 16. She married Herbert L. Fretz December 24, 1954 in Baumholder, Germany. The couple lived in several locations during Herbert's military service. Herbert passed away May 11, 1995. Ruth was a dedicated wife and homemaker.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Debra (Raphael) Brua; son René (Carol) Fretz; and 6 grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert; and sister Christa.
Memorial Services for Ruth will be Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. A spring interment will be in the McVille Cemetery.
