Ruth Walcker

Ruth Walcker, age 83, resident of Mayville, ND formerly Finley, ND passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.
Ruth Regina Klain was born September 12, 1928 on the family farm near Turtle Lake, ND the daughter of Ferdinand and Marie (Siedler) Klain. She was raised and attended rural school in the area, and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1947. Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond T. Walcker on June 10, 1949 in Turtle Lake, ND. She was a housewife while raising 4 children in Turtle Lake until October 1961 when the family moved to Finley, ND.
Ruth was the church secretary for the Finley Baptist Church and also part-time custodian for Finley Motors Co. and Sheyenne Valley Electric Co-op. Ruth was very active in her church, Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and being a part in her children and grandchildren school activities while raising them in a loving manner. Ruth and Ray enjoyed numerous airplane and bus trips to a variety of locations across the U.S.A.
Raymond passed away in September 2004. Then, Ruth lived in Sharon, ND for a year. She again moved back to Finley for 2 years before becoming a resident of the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Ramona (Bruce) Neva of Sharon, ND; sons Rodney (Cindy) Walcker of Finley, ND, Russell (Pam) Walcker of Finley, ND and Randy (Teressa) Walcker of Coppell, TX; 8 grandchildren Dustin, Brook, Brandi, Kristopher, Allison, Austin, Brittany and Jeremy; 6 great grandchildren Jessica, Tate, Kaden, Keegan, Brennen and Riley; 2 sisters Elsie Fetzer of Garrison, ND and Jeanette (Herb) Offerman of Sand Pointe, ID; 3 brothers Albert (Lorraine) Klain of Garrison, ND, Eddie (Carol) Klain of Kalispell, MT and Leonard (Shirley) Klain of Turtle Lake, ND.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; 2 sisters Hilda Theil and Edith Poore.
Funeral Services for Ruth will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Assembly of God Church in Finley, ND. Visitation will be Sunday March 11, 2012 in the Assembly of God Church of Finley from 5PM to 7PM with a prayer service at 7PM, and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday. Spring interment will be in the Finley Cemetery, Finley, ND. Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel of Cooperstown, ND.
