Scott A. Rusten, age 53, resident of Aneta, ND, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 25, 2023 while doing what he loved, working cows, and doing it with the people he loved the most.

Scott was born April 8, 1970 in Northwood, ND, the son of Allen and Judy (Egeland) Rusten.  He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Aneta High School in 1988.  Scott at one time was married to Kayla Heinz, and from this marriage were born 4 of his greatest treasures.  Scott’s passions in life were his 4 children, cattle, and anything associated with farming.  He enjoyed boating, camping, ice fishing, Ranger riding, and spending time with his family.  Anybody that knew Scott was aware that he had a great memory and a smart comment after or during a short phone call.  He worked alongside his father and brother as the 4th generation on the family farm.  He worked for Galen Larson at Aneta Meats and had seen much of the country while over the road trucking.  He most recently worked for the Mahan/Zimprich farms.  He was an active member of the Ottawa Lutheran Church.

Scott will be greatly missed by his 4 children, Sage, Kinley, Nevada, and Kelbie; his mother, Judy Rusten of Aneta; sister, Angie (Stuart) Gullicks of Finley, ND; brother, Tim (Jennifer) Rusten of Aneta; nephews, Ethan (Joni) Gullicks, Grant Gullicks, Darren Gullicks, Wyatt Rusten, Cord Rusten, and Evan Rusten; niece, Rachel Gotter; and great nephews, Sullivan Gullicks, Callihan Gullicks, and Weston Aabrekke.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Rusten.

The Funeral Service for Scott will be held at the Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, ND, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the Ottawa Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
