Shirley L. Lundeby, 80, Tolna, died Thursday May 18, 2012 at Villa Maria, Fargo.
Shirley Lorraine Evers was born November 23, 1931, in Cooperstown, ND to Norman and Olga Evers. She grew up and attended school in Binford, N.D. She attended Nursing School in Fargo.
Shirley married Iver G. Lundeby June 17, 1951 in Binford. They farmed in Tolna for a short period of time then lived in Seattle for a year. In 1953 they moved to Cando, ND. Shirley was active in Ladies Aide, Garden Club, Birthday Club, bowling league and taught Sunday school. In 1977 they moved to the Tolna area, where the family operated Lundeby Evergreens. Shirley was often found in her garden or sun room enjoying her many flowers and plants. She was a member of the Beauty Builders Garden Club, Home makers and WELCA with the Tolna Lutheran Church. She enjoyed entertaining her friends and family with beautifully planned food, table settings and decorations. For several years she made arrangements to decorate the tables at her church.
Shirley is survived by her children; son Fred (Leah) Lundeby, Tolna; four daughters, Elise(Gary) Norenberg, Omaha, NE; Kristine(Allen) Anderson, Littleton, CO, Lorraine(David) Hanna, Fargo, ND, Annette(Michael) Yarusso, St. Paul, MN; her brother, Norman (Dorothy) Evers, St. Paul, MN; and sisters-in-law, Gudrid Gordon, Billings, MT, Solveig(Bill) Nelson, Auburn,WA, Ura Anthony, Stillwater, MN and Liv Halvorson, McVille, ND; special nephews, Rodney and David Lundeby; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Iver on May 17, 2000; sister-in-law, Vivian Ringdahl; brothers-in-law, Carl Ringdahl, Jim Gordon and Tobby Lundeby; great grandsons, Jackson Iver Lundeby and Jonathon David Richter.
Funeral services are Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11 am with lunch to follow at American Lutheran Church, Tolna. Visitation is Monday, May 21, 2012 from 5-7pm at Stanley- Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND. Interment will be in Gethsemane Lutheran Cemetery.
