Sonjia Ramberg

Sonjia Helene Ramberg, 72, Fargo, ND died Friday, July 11, 2014 surrounded by her family.

Sonjia Helene Strand was born August 30, 1941 in Edmore, ND. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Edmore High School in 1958. She was united in marriage on April 16, 1959 to Gerald C. Ramberg. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mayville State College with English and Elementary Education degrees. She taught second grade for 37 years, which she enjoyed immensely, mainly in the West Fargo School District. She loved spending time with her husband Jerry, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and visiting with friends. She also developed lifetime friendships with all of the children she had as students throughout her many years of teaching.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gerald C. Ramberg, Fargo, ND; sons, Michael (Wendy), West Fargo, ND, Todd (Sherri), Harwood, ND, Jeffery (Jennifer), West Fargo, ND, Chad, Fargo, ND; and daughter, Doni Jo, West Fargo, ND. 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Janice Fleet, Tennessee; brothers, Don Strand, Edmore, ND, Jim Strand, Argusville, ND; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and special cousin Linda Gray.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ole Strand; mother, Vandelyne Nelson; and step father, Roy Nelson.

The Funeral Service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church of Edmore, ND, on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Jodi Myrvik. Burial will be in the Edmore Cemetery. Sonjia's grandsons will serve as casketbearers. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
