Terry Owen Bjornstad

Terry Owen Bjornstad, age 51, Phoenix, AZ, formerly McVille, ND died September 13, 2009 at his home in Phoenix after a brief illness.

He was born in McVille, ND on April 23, 1958, the son of Idell and the late Gordon Bjornstad. He was baptized and confirmed at the McVille Lutheran Church. He was educated at McVille public schools. He worked in Grand Forks and Minneapolis and in November of 1985 he married Joyce Tvedt. After her death Terry moved to Phoenix where he worked for the One Stop Shop and was a long time employee of Gaylord Manufacturing Company. On July 22, 1995 Terry married Jennie Marie.

Terry was a hard worker and willing to help others. Terry loved music and spent time playing his guitar and singing. He also enjoyed doing mechanic work on his motorcycle and cars and often helped friends with their mechanical problems.

Terry will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his son Travis Ista of Fargo, ND, his mother and stepfather Idell and Vernon Hovdenes of Tolna, ND, sisters Vangie (Wayne) Jorde of Dickinson, ND and Tammy (Kraig) Tweed of Jefferson, IA, brothers Landis (Kathy) Bjornstad of Bartow, FL and David Bjornstad of Grand Forks, ND, nine nieces and nephews and four grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce, his second wife Jennie, his father Gordon, his paternal grandparents Olaf and Anna Bjornstad and his maternal grandparents Mildred and Sidney Hoiberg.

Memorial services for Terry will be Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the McVille Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Reverend Marli Danielson. Interment will be in the McVille Cemetery. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home.
