Thelma Otterson

Thelma Otterson, 105, of Aneta, ND passed away peacefully at Aneta Parkview Health Center on October 25, 2016, and went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior.

Thelma was born October 3, 1911 on the home place near Kloten, ND, the daughter of Halvor and Anna Franklin. She attended school in Kloten. Thelma married Alvin Otterson of Aneta, ND in 1940 where they lived and lovingly raised Bruce and Kay. Thelma was involved in many volunteer activities in Aneta including the Park Board, American Legion Auxiliary, and Parkview Care Center. Her main passion was her involvement with the Community Church where she spent many years as organist, Bible and Sunday School teacher, choir member, and in recent years with her Bible study group.

Thelma is survived by her children, Bruce Otterson of Rockford, MN and Kay (Jerry) Gnoinsky of Moorhead, MN; 3 grandchildren, Brad, Julie, and Jennifer; 4 great grandchildren, Jacob, Emili, RomaKay, and Rylan; and several nieces and nephews.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, and 9 brothers and sisters, Obert, Ole, Frank, Gladys, Bertha, Alice, Bernice, Tilda, and Selma.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Aneta Community Church, Aneta, ND. Visitation will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Silent Hill Cemetery, rural Aneta, ND.

Memorials are preferred to Aneta Community Church or your choice.
