Theodore "Ted" C. Sonderby
August 26, 1931 — December 18, 2021
Theodore “Ted” Sonderby, age 90, resident of Tolna, ND, passed away Saturday December 18, 2021 at the Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille, ND.
Ted Sonderby was born to Christ and Marie Sonderby on August 26, 1931 in rural Nelson County. He grew up in Tolna, ND, graduating from high school in 1950, and served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954. He married the love of his life, Ordis Lund, in 1954 and they raised 4 boys together. Ordis passed away much too early in 1986.
Ted spent a great deal of his adult life in Cooperstown, ND and Willow City, ND, where he managed lumber yards. Having expertise in estimating homes, building homes, and building almost anything, he enjoyed doing anything with wood.
He is survived by his (4) sons, Chris (Kayla) of Weatherford TX, Kim (Karen) of Littleton CO, Scott (Wanda) of Maple Grove MN, and Clark (Bonita) of Aurora CO. He is also survived by his (2) sisters, Anna Farrell of Tolna, ND and Elsie Lykken of Prescott, AZ.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ordis; brothers, Iver and George.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Sigdal Lutheran Church, rural Tolna, ND, on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
