Thomas L. Riely

Thomas L. Riely, age 67, resident of rural Petersburg, ND died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his home.
Thomas LeRoy Riely was born July 22, 1948 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Willis and Alice (Byrne) Riely. He graduated from Unity High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Navy off the coast of Vietnam. His entire adult life was spent farming in rural Petersburg, ND, where he lived on the farm originally purchased by his grandparents over 100 years ago. Tom was a long time member of the Petersburg Curling Club and a member of the John Larson American Legion Post 247. As a member of the Class of 1966, he had looked forward to his 50-year class reunion.
Tom is survived by siblings, Bonnie (Dick) Vasichek, Pat Riely, James (Jan) Riely, Dick (Deb) Riely, Susan Gustin, and Ellen (Jim) Hauser; sister-in-law, Marsha Riely; brother-in-law, Ken (Kathy) Jarolimek; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Riely; sister, Janice Jarolimek; and great niece, Josie Greenwood.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence O’ Toole Catholic Church, Michigan, ND on Tuesday, March, 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND on Monday, March 28, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a vigil and rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to mass on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at the Michigan Cemetery.
