Thomas Stockeland

Thomas D. Stockeland, age 91 of Binford, ND passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown.

Thomas was born in Cooperstown, ND on March 21, 1923. Following High School graduation he joined the US Navy and served in the South Pacific for two years during WWII. He married Marion Bowder on April 7, 1945. They raised six children; Pamela (Craig) Sturlaugson of Coon Rapids, MN, David of Petit Goave, Haiti, Gayland (Alesia) of Valley Springs, CA, Neal (Betty) of Fargo, ND, Linnea (Nathan) Aaland of Rochester, MN, and Lane (Valerie) of Hudson, WI. They were blessed with 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents George and Isabelle Stockeland, brothers Edwin, Oscar, Gordon, and George, sisters Alice Mortensen and Dorcas Bartkowski and grandson, Michael Stockeland.

Funeral Services for Thomas will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am in Bethany Free Lutheran Church of Binford. Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2014 from 4PM to 7PM with a prayer service at 7PM in the Bethany Free Lutheran Church of Binford, ND and continue 1 hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the spring at the Bethany Cemetery.
